YOU CAN`T TALK IN FREE FALL
YOU CAN`T TALK IN FREE FALL
Skydiving is an incredible way to experience the freedom of flight. But while you’re falling through the air, you may be wondering why you can’t communicate with your fellow jumpers.
According to experts, it’s all about the physics of sound. When you’re skydiving, the speed of sound is faster than the speed of the skydiver. That means that sound waves can’t travel fast enough to keep up with you.
In addition, the wind and turbulence of a skydive can scatter sound waves, making it even more difficult to hear someone talking. And if you’re wearing a mask or helmet, that will further muffle sound.
So while you may be able to shout or gesture to someone nearby, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to have a conversation.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the beauty of the skydive. The spectacular views, the thrill of the freefall, and the feeling of weightlessness will still make it a memorable experience.
